Recipe: Hyugeso Gamja (휴게소 감자)

Hello everyone, I am back with a new Korean recipe~
Well.. actually I am not really good at cooking, but now I am learning how to cook Indonesian and Chinese foods from my mom and my auntie, but yeah let's be honest that most of them are quite complicated because you will need a lot of ingredients and takes quite a long time to cook, but I will try my best to share them on my blog in the near future. And today I am going to share how to make Hyugeso Gamja (휴게소 감자)
to all of you ^^

Hyugeso (휴게소) means Rest Stop and Gamja (감자) means Potato,
so Hyugeso Gamja is Korean Rest Stop Potatoes and you can certainly find this tasty snack in Korean highway rest stop areas ^^

----------------------------

Ingredients:
- 18 baby potatoes.
- Water.
- 2 tsp salt.
- 2 tbsp butter.

Peel the baby potatoes, and put them in cold water to prevent the peeled potatoes from turning brown.

Put the potatoes in a saucepan and cover with cold water, and don't forget to add 2 tsp of salt.

Bring to a boil over medium heat and cook the potatoes for about 15 to 20 minutes until tender. Drain them.

Melt 2 tbsp of butter in a pan.

Add the boiled potatoes and fry them over low to medium heat.

And just turn them occasionally until the surface of the potatoes become golden brown and it takes for about 10 minutes or more, so you just have to be patient LOL. And please don't fry the potatoes over high heat to prevent burning and they will be able to absorb the butter.

This is optional but you can also sprinkle some chopped parsley on them, and you can sprinkle a little more of salt if needed. And you are done~!

This snack is super easy and simple to make, right? And just eat them immediately because they are quite crispy on the outside and soft inside while they are still hot yum~! And oh, you can also use normal potatoes if you do not have baby potatoes, but you have to cut them into small pieces ^^

And guess what? This Hyugeso Gamja became my dad's favorite snack, so I made these again using 40 baby potatoes in the next day for my family LOL. So I warn you, these are are so freaking addictive and yummy~

So, have you tried Hyugeso Gamja before?

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day ^^

See ya~
